Virtual pre-CERME12 event

Dear colleagues,

A warm welcome to the virtual (online and synchronous) pre-CERME12 event running from Tuesday, 2nd of February 2021, till Friday, 5th of February 2021, with the virtual YERME event taking place over the Monday (1st of February) and Tuesday (2nd of February) just before the main event. 

We will begin with a short opening ceremony and a plenary on Tuesday, 2nd of February 2021, at 16:30-18:30 (CET) and then end with the ERME general meeting, a panel discussion and closing ceremony on Friday, 5th of February 2021, at 16:30-18:30 (CET). Each Thematic Working Group (TWG) has been allocated ONE 2-hour time slot during the period between the opening and closing ceremonies. 

We look forward to ‘seeing’ you in February 2021.

The ERME board is the central committee organizing the society. Its members are elected on Tuesday, February 2, in the General Meeting by all registered participants.

Nathalie Sinclair will discuss her recent research with touchscreen technology, but will also address how research in the specific area of technology can connect to broader themes in our research community. Nathalie is a professor in mathematics education at Simon Fraser University (Canada). She has been a long-standing contributor to CERME and is currently a co-leader of TWG15: Learning Mathematics with Technology and Other Resources.

Plenary Discussion hosted on UCL Extend. Conference attendees only.

The panelists will be Mario Sanchez Anguilar (Mexico), Merrilyn Goos (Ireland), Cristina Sabena (Italy) and Yvette Solomon (Norway / UK) will discuss the challenges and opportunities for mathematics education presented by the pandemic. Each panellist will give a five minute presentation, which will be followed by a discussion. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
